About

My name is Sam R. Hall. I am a political and communications consultant and sometimes freelance writer living in the suburbs of Jackson, MS.

My first computer was an Apple IIe that my father bought for the family, along with an ImageWriter II printer. That set-up was my introduction into a world that has fascinated me ever since. (Thanks, dad!)

Flashing Robot is my outlet for writing about and linking to news regarding Apple, technology and all around general geekery. This is one of my two main hobbies, and I love sharing it with other people.

Me Elsewhere

My “real” job is as founding partner of Blue Dot Group, LLC, a political, communications and issue advocacy consulting firm. I founded this firm in late 2008 with my best friend.

Outside of technology, I blog about culture, current events and other general miscellany over at http://blog.samrhall.com.

As for the ol’ social media goes, you can find me on Facebook, Twitter and Goolge+.

The Family

My wife, Tara, and I have three children, Joshua, Ella and Toby; and a cat, Hemingway. Tara is a recovering teacher who spends her days raising children and keeping our family running smoothly.

In her spare time, which is when most people sleep, she bakes, designs, plans parties and makes some amazing crafts. If you want to learn more about what she makes, visit her Facebook page or shoot her an email.

Supporting Flashing Robot

This is not my full-time gig; it’s a hobby. But if you like what you read here, you can help me keep my hobby going by making a small contribution.

Or, better yet, shop Amazon and support this site while buying yourself something nice. (If you want to buy me something nice, visit my Amazon Wishlist.)
